4Ps Champion Scheme

4Ps Champions are members of the radiography workforce who advocate for person-centred care and share good practice from across the UK.

Overview

The College of Radiographers 4Ps Champions Programme brings together members of the radiography workforce to advocate for person-centred care within clinical imaging and radiotherapy services.

Roles and Responsibilities

CoR Champions play a key role in:

  • Raising awareness of the College of Radiographers ‘a Partnership between Patients, Practitioners and the Public within Imaging and Radiotherapy services: guiding principles’ document, also known as the 4Ps.
  • Promoting use of the 4Ps by demonstrating best practice in clinical, leadership and management, education and research settings.
  • Sharing knowledge and experiences through articles, blog posts, podcasts, and conference presentations.
  • Supporting workforce development by highlighting opportunities to learn more about the guiding principles of the 4Ps through the CoR’s member resources.

Impact and Activities

Champions should contribute to raising awareness of person-centred care locally, nationally, and internationally. Examples include:

  • Writing articles in leading journals and health publications.
  • Speaking at professional conferences and podcasts.
  • Implementing person-centred care practices, such as considering dignity and modesty through an equity, diversity and inclusion lens, working with charities and peer-support group to shape service development, including people with lived experience in radiography education, and co-designing radiographer-led research with patients and the public.

Benefits of the 4Ps Champions programme

Being a College of Radiographers 4Ps Champion provides:

  • Opportunities to collaborate with like-minded radiography professionals. · A platform to influence radiography practices and policies and to improve the standard of care delivery in imaging and radiotherapy services.
  • Access to the quarterly 4Ps Champions Community of Practice meetings, held online. 4Ps Champions are central to the College of Radiographers strategy, and elevating person-centred care in radiography.

How to become a 4Ps Champion

“Our 4Ps Champions will be a key part of ensuring widespread implementation of the 4Ps guiding principles in all four pillars of radiography practice. I’m looking forward to welcoming new Champions to our Community of Practice meetings, and working in partnership to make a real difference to people needing imaging examinations, or radiotherapy treatment”. - Dr Emma Hyde,Head of Education & Research.
