To follow government guidance on restrictions during the months of Covid-19, we are making small changes to the way we can assess programmes for College of Radiographers’ approval. Covid-19 will have an impact on the number and availability of assessors.
If you have applied for re-approval of a programme
You may apply for an extension to your approval period. Submit via email a request on letterhead paper addressed to the Chair, Approval & Accreditation Board, and this will be reviewed at the next Approval and Accreditation Board meeting.
New programmes, new education providers or permanent significant changes to the programme
If you are planning to start delivery, or implement significant changes in September 2020, then you will need to proceed with the approval process:
o Programme Handbook
o Practice Placement Handbook
o Student Programme Handbook
o Module specifications
o Placement proforma
o Practice placement agreement (tripartite if sharing placement with other education providers)
Additional practice placement
If you need to change your numbers at a placement site, or request approval for use of a new placement provider for your programme, then please apply as normal.
We will need:
Short courses
Short courses or individual modules not leading to an award may apply for approval; these approvals will be undertaken using the course documentation. The assessor can email/telephone the education provider if they have any questions. Please ensure that you give accurate contact details for those not working from their normal place of work.
Post-registration programmes
Approvals of post-registration programmes will be undertaken utilising the programme documentation and the assessor can email/telephone the education provider if they have any questions. Please ensure that you give accurate contact details for those not working from their normal place of work.
To apply for approval of a programme you run please complete the application form here. All approvals must be ratified by the Approval and Accreditation Board (AAB) and College Board of Trustees. Please see the AAB page for details of the dates these boards convene.
